In 2006, Laurie Dies founded Capitol Weddings & Events, LLC, as a full service special event creation and coordination business, which provides strategic preparation, planning, development and implementation services. As a special events consultant and wedding planner, Laurie has provided a variety of wedding planning, corporate event planning, non-profit organization fundraiser planning and association planning services to a variety of clients.
Laurie has a strong background in event planning as she previously served as a Director of Special Events for a state-wide non-profit organization. This followed a successful career in state government as an Executive Assistant in the Wisconsin State Senate and as a Special Assistant in the Office of the University of Wisconsin System President, where she coordinated the award-winning Wisconsin Economic Summits. Her corporate clients have included businesses which sought her expertise on events ranging from corporate annual meetings, business conferences, a ground breaking ceremony, and legislative events at the State Capitol, to "ribbon-cutting" events, fundraisers, honorary receptions, centennial celebrations and more…!
Additionally, Laurie has coordinated several weddings and family celebrations in various venues throughout the Greater Madison, Wisconsin area and has consulted with wedding venues to enhance the experiences for their wedding clients. She would be honored to assist you with your personal or professional special event needs!
